Sara's Paradise

From ruins, I build paradise.

Animated stories about Sara, an architect who notices the families the city walks past, and quietly turns their broken homes into places full of light.

Sara and the family from Episode one laughing together over bread and tea on their terrace at night, string lights overhead
bread and tea, under the moon

I wanted to turn ruins into paradise in real life, and make the world a little more beautiful.I couldn’t.So now I build paradise from ruins in my dreams, hoping the real world becomes kinder one day, with no ruins left in it, and no ruined people.

She notices the people everyone walks past.

Sara is an architect and interior designer. She listens far more than she talks, and when she sees a family the city has forgotten, she can’t drive on.

She isn’t a superhero. She cries, she gets tired, she doubts herself. And every time, she gets back up. Some things she keeps to herself, like where she comes from.

A few things she loves:

  • Coffee she smells first, then forgets until it’s cold.
  • Rain on the balcony glass, and a paper book.
  • Mochi. Obviously.

The Cat Family

A rainy autumn night, a mother cat who wouldn't run from the headlights, and three kittens trapped below the road.

Sara climbed down. Then, because she doesn't have a yard, she gave them the far end of her balcony.

6:50 long, out since October 2026.

Sara kneeling in the rain at the water's edge, lifting the white kitten off the branch
the white one first

My boots were full of water. I didn't care.

Sara

Two kittens on a branch above the water. Sara climbed down.

Sara kneeling in the rain holding a kitten while the mother cat presses close and the two other kittens sit at her knees
all four, together

Look at her face. A mother counting her children.

Sara

And then all four of them were together again.

In a sunny room, Sara kneels and watches the ginger kitten take its first steps without a bandage, the white and tabby kittens nearby
first steps

His first steps. Nobody clapped louder than me.

Sara

A few days later, the bandage came off.

Sara on her balcony at sunset with a cup of coffee, the mother cat beside her, looking at an empty corner

What do you say… should we turn this corner into a little paradise? Just for the four of you.

Sara

Then she looked at the empty end of her balcony.

Sara building the cat house on her balcony, from measuring the wall to shelves, a mesh door and string lights at night
built frame by frame

Measure twice, cut once. Then let the cats inspect everything.

Sara

Measure first. Shelves at cat height. A little round house. Lights.

The finished cat house glowing on the balcony at night, shelves and a round bed under string lights, Sara looking out at the city
a little paradise, just for four

Tonight they fell asleep before I did.

Sara

A little paradise, just for the four of them.

Mochi, a fluffy white kitten with big blue eyes

The smallest white one never left.

His name is Mochi. Pure white, blue eyes, and strong opinions about the sunniest spot on the balcony. Sara talks to him as if he understands every word. He might.

Episode one

A Piece of Bread

A street vendor, his twin daughters, and one piece of bread Sara couldn't drive past.

A street vendor sits by his cart while his twin daughters share a piece of bread on the sidewalk
one piece, two girls

He gave them all of it and said he wasn't hungry. Fathers always say that.

Sara

A father splits one piece of bread between his twin daughters.

A crumbling house with a rusted roof and broken walls at dusk

The roof was half sky. They had made it a home anyway.

Sara

Sara follows him home, to a house the city has forgotten.

The twins excitedly describe their dream room with wide open hands
“and strawberries!”

Pink. Strawberries. Two beds, side by side. I wrote down every word.

Sara

“So tell me. What would your dream room look like?”

The mother covers her mouth in tears as the father holds her shoulder

I keep this one closest. Their faces, not the walls.

Sara

But the most beautiful moment is never the house.

Sara kneels in the new pink bedroom, hugging both twins tightly
two girls who won't let go

They smelled like fresh bread and new paint.

Sara

It's two girls who won't let go.
